Soflens 59 contact lenses were previously known as Soflens Comfort. Manufactured by Bausch & Lomb, the Soflens brand is renowned for its protein resistant material. This material enables Soflens 59 to give the wearer superior levels of comfort and visual acuity.
Soflens 59 are monthly contact lenses and come in convenient boxes of 6, each lens in a buffered saline solution.
Soflens 59 are made from a polymer known as Hilafilcon B - this polymer resists protein and prevents deposits building up on the surface of the lenses, ensuring that they stay clear and fresh and feel comfortable throughout the day.
These lenses have a high water content, and the 59 in the name is due to the 59% water content in the lens. This makes them great for people who have dry eyes as they keep the eyes feeling fresh even when worn for a whole day. The high water content also enables oxygen to reach the wearer's eye more readily. This makes them excellent for people who tend to wear contact lenses whilst engaging in tasks that involve keeping their eyes open for a long time, such as working at a computer for several hours at a time.
